BRISTOL WRECK TOURNAMENT

We will have a BASU qualified umpire on each pitch who will be applying ISF rules.

Home and away will be decided by a coin toss before the game.

There will be a 1 ball/1 strike count in operation.

In all games except the finals no new innings will be called after 45 minutes with ball game being called after 55 minutes. If ball game is called before an innings is completed the score will be taken from the last completed innings.

All games are a maximum of seven innings, in the event that all seven innings  are completed before 55 mins.

At  the end of the match the umpire will fill in a result sheet which needs to be initialled by both captains.

As it is a rec tournament we will impose a 150 line in the outfield that no outfielder can come inside of until the ball is hit.If the line is not marked on the pitch it will be up to the umpires discretion

During the round robin stage games can be tied.

Teams will score 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.

At the end of the round robin stage points will be totalled up and teams in each division will then be ranked 1 to 16.If teams are tied on the same number of points they will be split by:

head to head record
run difference
coin toss

The teams will then be divided into Cup and Plate competitions with teams 1 to 8 competing in the cup, teams 9 to 16 competing in the plate.

If a game is tied during the knock out stages extra innings will then be played with the last batter out from the previous innings starting on 2nd base until a result is achieved.

The finals will be played over 7 innings with the above occurring if the game is tied at the bottom of the 7th. A 1 ball/1 strike count will still operate in the finals.

During timed games the umpire will operate a mercy rule if a team is 20 runs or more behind after a completed innings after 35 minutes.  In the final the umpire will operate a mercy rule if a team is 20 or more runs behind at the end of the 4th innings or 15 or more runs behind after the 5th innings.
